Takayuki Takeya (竹谷 隆之) is a Japanese sculptor born in Hokkaido in 1963. He graduated from Asagaya College of Art and Design and has since worked across various fields, including character design for film, games, and toys. Notably, he created the sculpture of the Giant God Warrior for the short film Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo. He also contributed to the character design of the film Shin Godzilla and collaborated with The Ghibli Expo to create the The World of Ohmu display. Takeya has published several of his own books, including Angles of Hunters (Kodansha), Modeling of Fear (Genkosha), and The Making of The Toxic Jungle: Modeling Process in Pictures (Tokuma Shoten). He has also collaborated with artist Keita Amemiya of Zeiram fame on various projects.
