Tekno was founded in 1928 in Copenhagen. In 1972 the Danish company went into liquidation. In 1974 the Dutchman John van Min bought the right to use the Tekno name and introduced a range of 1/50th scale model trucks made in the Netherlands. The Tekno trucks are excellently detailed and aimed at the collectors' market. The Dutch Tekno company has also reissued two Saab and Volvo car models made from original Danish castings.
