Something Missing?

Tinytoys was a new line of begun in 1959 to compete with European diecasts that were making inroads in North American markets.  Like their Real Toys that followed, it was an unsuccessful venture and died out after a year or two.

In accordance with Hubley's emphasis on trucks, the new line featured two fire engines and four construction trucks in both assembled and kit form.  They were four to five inches long with a plastic body and diecast chassis.  In comparison to a Corgi of that era, the plastic body appears cheap and unsubstantial but had they lasted, they would be competitive against anything from the Seventies onward.
