Poul Rasmussen and Jørgen Molberg owned the factory called TOBI in Copenhagen, Denmark. The name was taken from the first two letters of their wives' names: Jørgen's wife Tove and Poul's Birthe. The small factory later moved from Hessensgade (street in Copenhagen) to larger premises on Englandsvej 229, where they split up. Poul switched from toys to making HPA balancing machines for car wheels. (as told by Poul's son.) Molberg continued making toys.
Hedegaard in his book mentions that Tobi Toys are from 1949-53.
