USS Stargazer (NCC‑2893) was a Constellation-class Federation starship active during the mid-24th century. Launched in 2326, Jean‑Luc Picard took command around 2333 and led the vessel through missions in the Cardassian border region. In 2355, the Stargazer engaged an unknown attacker in the Maxia Zeta system—later identified as a Ferengi vessel—in an event known as the “Battle of Maxia.” Picard employed the innovative “Picard Maneuver” to disable the enemy, but extensive damage forced the crew to abandon ship, and it was presumed lost. In 2364, the Ferengi DaiMon Bok recovered the derelict Stargazer and returned it to Starfleet as part of a revenge plot against Picard. Bok was subsequently arrested, and the ship was eventually decommissioned and placed in the Fleet Museum around 2402 under its original registry.
