The Dutch Van Seumeren Kraanbedrijf crane rental business was founded in 1966 with headquarters in Utrecht. The family business would be pivotal in the growth and professionalization of the global market for heavy lifting and transport. In 2000 Van Seumeren took over their largest competitor Mammoet. The name Mammoet became the name for the new company. By 2011 the Van Seumeren family sold all their Mammoet stocks to SHV Holdings.
