VAU-PE Modellspielwaren und Formenbau GmbH was a model railway accessories manufacturer from Wangen im Allgäu .

The company was founded by Voigt ("Vau", first name unknown) and Friedrich Poppitz ("Pe") on 1 July 1950 and was first represented in 1951 at the International Toy Fair with 18 different tree models made of wire mesh with about 15 permanent employees were and looked very realistic.

On 1 July 1952 the company was converted into the Vau-Pe Friedrich Poppitz KG (3579 Neukirchen Kr. Ziegenhain). This year, the range has been expanded to prefabricated buildings made of wood, cardboard, and plaster, and other model railway accessories.

In 1958, the company built a new company building and moved into it in 1959. At this time, the company had ten permanent employees and 30 to 40 homeworkers.

In 1960, Horst Pollak approached Vau-Pe of Pola, who was looking for co-investors because of the high entry-level costs for a new production of plastic kits. From then on, the plastic parts were mainly produced by Pola and made ready for sale at the headquarters. Some molds were used in kits of both companies.

Due to declining birth rates and the advent of computer games, the market changed decisively in the early 1980s. Vau-Pe as a family business without a successor decided in 1985 to stop production, to work up the remaining stock with two employees ready for sale and then to close the company.

Since the production partner Pola was also in trouble at the time due to the death of the managing director, only Eckhard Braun, a former employee at Noch, was interested in taking over. He bought Vau-Pe, moved the company headquarters to Wangen and put the plastic kits in sizes H0, TT, N again scratch. Currently no longer produced.

With the same address and telephone number the company ARWE-Modelltechnik Christel Braun e. K.

The last known address was: Webereiweg 1, 88239 Wangen im Allgäu.
