H. WITTROCK A/S was established in 1935 by Helmuth Wittrock in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company started in the radio industry, but, because of the shortage of supplies during the war, they moved into other products, like glass, china and toys. The demand for mechanical toys proved to be profitable, so Wittrock focused on toys. In 1949, the company introduced a series of H0 trains and accessories. A new company logo - a globe on which a train running on rails - was then created. The production of model trains ceased in 1960. Also in the fifties, Wittrock produced several tinplate and plastic toy cars. In the late fifties the demands for quality toys grew and Wittrock became an importer and distributor rather than a manufacturer, (source: https://www.vintagevolkswagenmodels.com/vintage-bus-toys-bs/item/464-wittrock-vw-bus)
