Subvariant title: 2008 HWC Neo-Classics

Iron your bell bottoms and bust out a Partridge Family eight-track … the Gremlin, that automotive symbol of the ‘70s, was retooled for 2008 and rocked HotWheelsCollectors.com as the HWC Series Seven Neo-Classics Gremlin Grinder!
When most people hear “gremlin” they think of Gizmo, the cute Chinese pet featured in the movie. But for automotive enthusiasts (and ‘70s pop culture lovers), the Gremlin that matters is the one first released by AMC in 1970. You could own it for a measly $2,000 and the vehicle initially sold quite well. Then in 1975, Larry Wood worked his design magic on it and that year marked the first issue of the Hot Wheels Gremlin Grinder. Fast-forward to 2008 and HWC provided a fully updated Gremlin Grinder, complete with Spectraflame smoke finish, Neo-Classics Redline wheels, and a mischievous little gremlin hitching a roof ride. With features like these, it’s a car that Gizmo’s nemesis, Stripe, would be proud to drive (although he probably wouldn’t appreciate the “grinder” reference).
