The Back to the Future franchise is a trilogy film series written and directed by Robert Zemeckis. The franchise follows the adventures of a 17-year-old high school student, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox), and an eccentric scientist, Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown (Christopher Lloyd), as they use a DeLorean car time machine to time travel to different periods in the history of the fictional town of Hill Valley, California.
