Charlie Bucket is the main protagonist in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate FactoryHe is portayed by Peter Ostrum.  

In the film, Charlie Bucket is the only child of a family containing a widowed mother, and his two sets of grandparents who are bedridden. He is able to find a golden ticket that was released by Willy Wonka, allowing him and his grandfather, along with four other winners and their guests, to tour Wonka's famous chocolate factory. In the film, Charlie Bucket is the only child shown to be morally good, making Wonka decide to choose him to inherit the factory.
