His character was first introduced in the book The Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith in 1956. In Disney's 101 Dalmatians (1961), he was voiced by Rod Taylor. He is featured in the live action edition 101 Dalmatians (1996), 101 Dalmatians: The Series, the cartoon sequel 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure, and 101 Dalmatians Sing Along Songs and 101 Dalmatians . He is also shown as Archie Hopper's dog in the ABC series Once Upon a Time.
