Battle Force 5

Series

Something Missing?

In 2009, Hot Wheels launched Battle Force 5 with the creative input of Nelvana Limited and Nerd Corps Entertainment. Modeled on concepts introduced in the Stunt Strikers series, Battle Force 5 introduced the blueprints of vehicles that could transform for combat purposes. The story introduced an all-new cast. Though names and concepts were reused from a preceding Hot Wheels series, the Battle Force 5 series assumed a brand new narrative with a lighter tone.

The series also attempted to realize the tenements of transmedia by branching out into different mediums and some merchandising previously explored in the Hot Wheels Speed Racer series. The main series was distributed through scheduled programming on Cartoon Network and 4 DVDs. Hot Wheels hosted its own domain for the series which hosted character bios, desktop wallpapers, and games.

The last resting iteration of the Battle Force 5 chronology is the full length movie Full Revolution (never aired on Cartoon Network nor released to DVD in English). Since their debut in the Battle Force 5 series, the vehicle castings have never been reused nor repainted for Hot Wheels mainline releases.
