RJ Series

Series of small-scale diecast models by Polistil, introduced in 1977 as a successor to the Penny or Politoys J series.

The series comprised some agricultural models carried over from the J series, newly cast passenger car models, models of Formula 1 racing cars and racing sports cars.

While all other models were phased out in 1980, the Formula 1 models remained available for several years longer.

In 1984 the series was renamed RN (marketed both as Polistil or Polistil/Tonka), and in that year some new passenger and rally car models were introduced. The RN series remained in production until 1992.

The RJ production cars from Polistil were ahead of their time. There are six automakers represented, each with six different models. They are Citroën, Renault, Fiat, Ford, Volkswagen and Alfa Romeo. Each model came in several colors.  --Tales of Toy Cars
