AAE Ahaus Alstätter Railway

AAE Ahaus Alstätter Eisenbahn AG, headquartered in Baar (Switzerland), was one of the largest privately owned freight car rental companies in Europe with 30,000 freight cars. It has been part of VTG AG since the beginning of 2015. First, the cars were equipped with a new logo combination of the VTG logo and the AAE characters. In 2018, the integration into VTG has largely been completed, with wagons being leased via VTG. Wagons still carry the holder abbreviation AAEC. Branches existed in all the bigger European countries. Repairs and main examinationsThe freight wagons were carried out throughout Europe. Three companies have been incorporated under Luxembourg law (AAE Railcar S.à.rl, AAE RaiLease S.à.rl, and AAE Wagon Finance SA) to organize operations. The AAE is also a member of the International Union of Railways UIC.
