Something Missing?

While a vast amount of 1/43rd scale model cars were produced in the former Soviet Union, only very few diecast models have been released in smaller scales. One of these models was made in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, in the 1970s: a Lada 2101 in 1/60th scale, available as a road car in various colours with interior detail and opening doors, or as a police or doctor's car without opening parts and with tinted windows concealing the missing interior. The emergency vehicles were marketed under the brand name of Belvar. Belvar is a manufacturer of measuring instruments based in Minsk which is still in business today.
