The brewery Wulle was founded in 1859 by Schwaben Ernst Imanuel Wulle in the heart of Stuttgart. The assortment of the Wulle brand is limited to the Wulle Vollbier Hell and the Wulle Weizen.

In 1971, Dinkelacker took over the Stuttgart brewery Wulle AG, which increased the annual output to over one million hectoliters. In 1977, Dinkelacker bought the brewery Sanwald and thereby expanded the product range by a few new wheat beers , which are sold to this day under the brand Sanwald. In 1982, the brewery Cluss from Heilbronn was taken over. From the season 1982/83 to 1987 Dinkelacker was jersey sponsor and was until 2011 premium partner of the football Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart, In 1988, the two breweries Wulle and Cluss, which belong to Dinkelacker, merged to become Cluss-Wulle AG. In 1990 Dinkelacker bought the Mauritius brewery from Zwickau, which had already existed since 1859 .
