Bugs Bunny

Looney Tunes | Character

Something Missing?

Bugs Bunny is one of the most recognized cartoon characters. He is the leader of the Looney Tunes and the mascot of Warner Bros. Bugs Bunny was the title character of several series of comic books, including a German one by the Condor publishing company. Unlike other characters whose names were changed in the German version, this one retained his name unchanged. Since his debut, Bugs appeared in more than 150 cartoons produced between 1940 and 1964. He has also starred in feature films, compilations, TV series, music records, comics, video games, award shows, amusement park rides, and commercials. He has also appeared in more films than any other cartoon character, is the 9th most-portrayed film personality in the world, and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Mel Blanc voiced the character for almost 50 years, from Bugs' debut in the 1940 short A Wild Hare until Blanc's death in 1989.
