Something Missing?

Cardinal is a Swiss beer brand. The brewery was established in Fribourg in 1788. It got its final name in 1890, when Paul-Alcide Blancpain created a "Cardinal Beer" in order to honor the bishop of Fribourg, Gaspard Mermillod, who had been appointed a cardinal by Pope Leo XIII. In 1991, the brewery was taken over by the Feldschlösschen group, who closed the production site in Fribourg in 2011. Cardinal beer is now brewed at the Feldschlösschen brewery in Rheinfelden.
