Dr Cecil Gibson wote many of the earliest diecast car related books.  He was a long-term model builder, collector, and Dinky expert.  He received his MBChB Medicine at the University of Edinburgh in 1946. Originally from there, he then practiced medicine in Anstey, Leicestershire, UK. Dr Gibson was also involved with the Aston Martin Owners Club in the UK.  A 1959 letter from Ian Fleming to him was auctioned in 2003 (https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/22715/lot/98/).  He also served in the Royal Air Force at RAF Luqa, Malta and in the Middle East. Also known as Dr. G.R.C.D. Gibson, he passed away in 2003 at the age of 80.
