Chris Amon

Christopher Arthur "Chris" Amon (July 20, 1943 – August 3, 2016) was a New Zealand race car driver. He is widely regarded to be one of the best Formula 1 drivers never to win a championship Grand Prix, during his career spanning the ’60s and 70s. Amon also ran his own Formula One team for a short period in 1974. Amon had some success in sports car racing, part of the team that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in a Ford GT40 in 1966.
