Something Missing?

Whilst the MICA replicas of early Lesney Toys are quite well known, the DEBO white metal replicas are less so, and were made in the late 1980s and early 1990s by Dennis Goodman and Rob Miles. They are also copies of the early MoKo/Lesney Models, originally distributed by Moses Konstam. Both Dennis and Rob were interested in all that Lesney and Matchbox produced.

We believe the first in the range was the Rag and Bone Cart and Colin Penn supplied the original model which was used as a basis to create the mould. Colin still has the very first casting from Debo in his collection. It is understood that Dennis and Rob also made the Soap Box racer, the Horse Drawn Milk Float, an ice cream vendor, which may be the same as the Copycat one, and possibly three others.

This range was made quite separately to the replicas made by the Matchbox International Collectors Association, and it is not known who made the moulds or cast these replicas.
