The First Order gradually rose to power after the collapse of the Galactic Empire at the Battle of Jakku. Under Supreme Leader Snoke, with a young former Jedi apprentice Kylo Ren at his side, the First Order colonized previously unsettled territories and hunted down the last of the Jedi. The iron-fisted military faction government flexed its might by destroying several peaceful planets using its Starkiller base. While the rebels destroyed the Starkiller Base, the First Order remained an imposing force in the galaxy under Snoke and Kylo Ren.
