Something Missing?

Frank Jones, of British Heritage Models, hoping to fill the gap caused by the loss of Somerville, Milestone and Western Models, announced his plan to launch three new ranges in late 2010. Frank was born and brought up in Liverpool, a quarter of a mile from the Meccano Dinky Toy factory, and these toys played a big part in his childhood. He began collecting white metal models around 2000, but due to redundancy, his collection had to be sold.

In 2010, Frank returned to white metal as a dealer and it was in March 2010 that he came up with the idea of British Heritage Models, specialising in just British model cars. He hopes at some point to bring out his own range but for the moment will concentrate on the Somerville Collection and The Sovereign Range, both of which have been very well received.

The Somerville Collection began with re-casting the Vauxhall Velox L-type, whilst his Sovereign range uses the K&R Replicas Triumph Stag, fully built for him by Scale Model Technical Services, as its flagship. Frank plans on low production runs, together with having some good contacts in the white metal industry, enabling him to gauge demand, and extend the ranges.
