Golden Jacks

Golden Jacks were a system developed by Corgi and fitted to a number of its models in the 1960s. It allowed the wheels to be removed from the model, adding to play value. The system involved a gold coloured lever on the base, next to each wheel, which locked the wheel in place. Lifting the lever not only released the specially designed wheel, but the lever component also dropped down to provide a 'jack' so that the car would still sit square with the wheel removed.
