As interim instance with certain competencies and thus de facto in many areas was almost independent according to § III 14 of the Rules of the German Reichsbahn Society, the group administration Bavaria with its own central office (Zentrales Maschinen- und Bauamt). In 1933 the group administration was dissolved. Since then, the Bavarian Reichsbahn Directorates, like all other directors, have been directly subordinate to the headquarters of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in Berlin.
