Guilio Ramponi was an Italian automobile racing driver and technician. He was born in Milan in 1902 and died in 1986. In 1918 he became a mechanic for opera singer Giuseppe Campari and in 1924 became co-driver and cheif riding mechanic for Antonio Ascari.
During a race, in 1925, Ascari became seriously injured. Luckily a new law had passed and Ramponi was no longer required to be in the car, so he did not sustain any injuries. Ascari died in his arms.
