High Fidelity Automotive Sculpture

An Ohio native and product of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Kent State University, Mark's passion for motorsports began while attending F1 and sports car races in Europe when serving in the military. At the completion of his service Maholm attended the Jim Russell Racing School in England and continued to race F/Fords in the Russell series before returning to the states in 1969.
In 1973 he earned his art degree from Kent State, and later worked as a sales representative for Fram, Autolite Spark-plugs and Sorensen Ignition and competed in F/Vee and F/Ford in SCCA National race events. Some 15 years after his marriage to wife Faye (whom he met in Europe) and the beginning of his family life, Mark
combined his knowledge of racing machinery with his artistic talents in the creation of accurately replicated sculptures of F1 and sports racing cars. Working primarily in bronze and solid resin castings, Maholm expanded his line of race car editions to include the creation of trophies for organizations including the Ferrari Club of America, the Viper division of Chrysler, the Ferrari Club of Canada, and the Monoposto vintage racing group.
Mark's work can be found in private art collections on both the East and West coasts and from Canada to the Dominican Republic. His work has been featured in AutoWeek, Cavallino, Lotus International and the Tire Business News.
