After residing in Philadelphia since 1904, the Athletics packed up their wagons and headed west to Kansas City, beginning with the 1955 season. Charlie O. Finley purchased the A's in 1960 and drastically rebranded the organization. The franchise lasted 13 years in Kansas City before heading westerly once again, this time to their modern day home in Oakland.
