This malevolent monarch is the central antagonist in the Donkey Kong franchise and first appeared in Donkey Kong Country in 1994. He routinely seeks to rob the Kongs of their banana stash with the help of his scaly underlings, the Kremlings. Besides a penchant for produce pilfering, K. Rool has kidnapped and imprisoned Donkey Kong's animal allies as well as some of his family members. Most recently, King K. Rool has appeared as a new fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018).
