Küppers Brauerei

Brewery

Something Missing?

In July 1893, it opened a branch office for the distribution of its export beer in the Brunost Strasse (Cologne-Altstadt-Süd). In 1913, it acquired a 4000-square-meter site with a track connection at Alteburger Strasse in Cologne-Bayenthal.

In 1990 the Cologne-based Küppers Kölsch Brewery was sold to the Dutch Grolsch Brewery Group with the Wicküler brewery and in 1994 to the Dortmunder Brau und Brunnengruppe. The plants on the Alteburger Straße were taken over by the Dom-Brauerei in October 2001, which continued the production of Küppers Kölsch until 2004 as Lohnsud. Since then, Küppers Kölsch has been working in the Kölscher Brautradition (formerly Kölner Verbundbrauerei GmbH) of the Radeberger Group in Bergisch-Gladbacher-Str. 116-134 brewed in Cologne-Mülheim. In 2005, the Dom brewery set up production in Alteburger Straße. The site was sold in 2006 and has now become embedded.
