The original lost Toppers were four models that Topper toys  never mass produced in USA.They were the Camaro,Mustang,Lincoln Continental and the Charger.However,these four models were mass produced,along with many others from the Johnny lightning line, in Mexico and marketed under the brand "Los Bolidos".

In 1993,Tom Lowe started Playing Mantis and by January of '94 had resurrected the Johnny Lightning line by introducing eight Topper replica castings-the bug bomb,wasp, movin van,jag xke,vicious vette,32 ford roadster,el camino,and the gto.In '95,Playing Mantis released,along with it's regular line of diecast,a commemorative line called The Lost Toppers in which they replicated the original four-charger,lincoln,mustang and camaro.They also introduced four other unproduced Toppers that were slated for production in '70-71,but were never realized.They were the Skinni mini,commuter,beep heap jeep,and the Tow'd(a hot rod tow truck).
