Media Molecule is a UK-based game development studio founded in January 2006 by a small troupe of Lionhead veterans: Mark Healey, Alex Evans, Dave Smith, and Kareem Ettouney, who, bolstered by their work together on cult indie game Rag Doll Kung Fu, started working on new games together. The company's first title was LittleBigPlanet (PS3) released in November 2008 as one of Sony's PS3-exclusive flagship titles for the holiday season. It is a mix between a traditional platformer with extensive editing options where user can design their own levels to the tiniest detail.
The company is a continuation of QI Creations, the name used by a large part of the current team who worked together on Rag Doll Kung Fu while still at Lionhead.
