Metal Mites / Bottle Series

Series

Something Missing?

A series of small-scale diecast models by Barclay of Union City, New Jersey made from approximately 1960 until the end of the brand in 1971.  Before "Metal Mites", Barclay called them "Metal Miniatures".

This was the first serious attempt to establish an American competitor for imported small-scale diecast models such as Matchbox, Budgie and Husky. Quality was lower, but the price was too (29 cents).

The name "Bottle Series" referred to the bottle shape design featured on the blisterpacks in which these models were sold.
