Something Missing?

Eventually, as the range increased, Mike developed a strong association with the Alvis Owners Club, which has many groups around the world, and he has become a member. As his ranges became more popular, his space in Burgess Hill became too confined.

As Mike had fond memories of Littlehampton as a child and teenager, in 2007 he moved to his current premises, and currently works on his own, using only a young person to assist in a part-time basis with casting preparation.

Mike has found that the year 2008/09 achieved the highest turnover yet in his ten years of operating as J&M Classics, but the first quarter of 2009/10 was quiet.

His production is sold through a limited range of outlets, predominantly those listed above, but also a new Web-based outlet, Marqueart, started up by a friend of Max Kernick, selling mainly Autotorque/Top Marques and J&M Classics.

In a similar way that the white metal model bus industry has paved the way and set the standards for the Chinese diecast trade to achieve, there is no doubt that white metal handbuilt model cars of the standard of J&M are setting the standards to beat for 1:43 diecast model cars.
