Matchbox and Gama models made in Bulgaria are marketed under the Mikro or Mikro'67 name. The original name of the manufacturer was DSO Mladost/MIR. Production of Matchbox models started in 1983. In the 1980s, the range consisted of 17 models from the "1-75" range and seven larger models from the "Super Kings" range. Until the 1990s these models were sold in Matchbox packages, but colours and some details are different from the Matchbox products made in England and the Far East. Since 1985 the company also manufactures 1/43rd scale Gama models; since the 1990s, a part of these models has been decorated with logos of European football clubs. Finally, tin models are made from dies originating from Buddy L and Tonka. The Mikro name only shows up on the box, the baseplates of the models always just indicate the name of the original manufacturer. The only exception with the Mikro logo on the bottom is a 1/43rd scale diecast model of the Lada Niva, developped by Mikro itself.
