The company that manufactures ice cream has remained owned by the Swiss multinational Nestlé, while the bakery and confectionery sector, which together represent the largest volume of revenue, was acquired in 2009 by the Italian company Bauli SpA.

In the summer of 1955 the ice cream division with the famous ice cream Mottarello was born. In the seventies Motta is sold to EMS, the finance company in the sector agro-food group IRI.
