Playart manufactured a variety of toys, including diecast cars in three-inch, 1/43 and 1/24 scales, diecast trucks in roughly 1/64 scale, larger-scale plastic battery-operated cars, slot cars and trains. They are best known, however, for the range of three-inch diecast cars which were sold under a variety of names including:

  • Charmerz as sold by distributor Charles Merzback
  • Freewheelers as sold in McCrory
  • Peelers as sold in Woolworth
  • Road Mates as sold in Sears

In the Netherlands, they were also sold at the HEMA department stores. The range is notable as almost all the models are direct copies of larger scale models produced by other manufacturers. The range was produced from around 1970 to at least 1982.
