Pocher

Brand

Something Missing?

Made in Torino, Italy, Pocher is famous for its large sized (1:8), highly detailed car kits.  However, Arnaldo Pocher and Corrado Muratore started the company, Pocher Micromeccanica S.n.c., in 1951/52 to make model train equipment.

In 1966, Corrado Muratore brought out his first 1:8 kit: the Fiat 130 HP Grand Prix de France 1907 - 823 parts! His second model was the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza with 1452 pieces. The Rolls Royce Phantom II Drop Hrad was the third model in 1970 with 2199 parts. After a fire destyroyed the factory in July 1972, their next model was another Alfa: the Spider Touring Gran Sport from 1932.

In the past the company also made naval guns and cannon models.  Also, previous to the large 1:8 scale kits, they made many large plastic toy cars (many Fiats), some remote-control. The brand is now owned by the Hornby Group.
