Popy was a Japanese toy manufacturer in the 1970s and 80s. Founded in 1971 by Bandai, Popy was best known for its "chogokin" or super alloy toys, which were preludes to the Transformer models prior to Takara and Hasbro. The company shuddered its doors in 1983.
