Purdey

Purdey is a mononymous fictional British spy who appeared in the television series The New Avengers from 1976-7. Purdey was John Steed's (Patrick MacNee) fourth regular female partner and the only one to be joined by another male partner, Mike Gambit (Gareth Hunt). She was also the second female Avenger to be unmarried. Her hairstyle was much-copied at the time of the series launch in 1976. Purdey drove a 1976 MGB Roadster and a 1976 Triumph TR7 and rode a Honda motorbike. She was played by the British actress and model Joanna Lumley.
