The company was started in August of 1996, at the 2e Poellaan in Lisse, The Netherlands. Three months later they presented their first six-door limousine with a 3 seater middle bench; "The Remetz SixDoor limousine based on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210". This was the start for the production of many sixdoor limousines. In 1998 they produced the first "Conference" face-to-face limousine. From that moment on they produced luxurious limousines, executive cars, and custom-made vehicles.

After 22 years in business, RemetzCar closed the doors for the last time in July 2018. Citing age & a declining market, the only specialist in stretching and coach building high-end vehicles in The Netherlands went out of business.
