Ribble Motor Services

Public Transport

Founded in 1919 Ribble Motor Services, or just Ribble for short, was a large regional bus operator in the North West England based in Preston.  In March 1988 the company was sold to a management buyout. In May 1989 Ribble was then sold to Stagecoach. In April 2001 the Blackburn, Hyndburn, Clitheroe and Bolton operations were sold to the Blazefield Group, which rebranded them as Lancashire United and Burnley & Pendle.

The area originally covered by Ribble and now run by Stagecoach is divided into three main operating areas - Stagecoach in Cumbria, Stagecoach in Lancaster and Stagecoach in Lancashire.
