Belgium's Sablon was founded in 1967 when the company introduced a 1/43 scale collection of BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Lamborghini, and NSU cars. In addition to the nine-car set, Sablon offered 1/43 scale model trucks.

Due to a chemical softener, the tires and plastic hubs reacted poorly on most Sablon cars, making models with intact tires rare to find these days.
