South Bend Watch Co.

Brand

South Bend’s ancestry began in 1874, with Gruen started his watch company in Columbus, Ohio; the Columbus Watch Company. In 1902, the Studebaker Brothers, looking to diversify their wagon business and newly formed car company, bought the company and moved it to South Bend. The South Bend Watch Company was sold to Hamilton Watch Company in 1929.
