On March 29, 2005, The Collective, Inc. merged with Backbone Entertainment to form their parent company, Foundation 9 Entertainment, and remain its subsidiaries. In 2007, however, Foundation 9 Entertainment relocated The Collective, Inc. to Irvine, California and merged it with Shiny Entertainment to form Double Helix Games.
