The Lord of the Rings


The Lord of the Rings is an epic fantasy trilogy written by J.R.R Tolkein. The three books were written between the years of 1937 and 1949. The story follows a young hobbit named Frodo on his quest to destoy the One Ring of Lord Sauron. The trilogy began as a sequel to Tolkein's childrens book The Hobbit, but soon gained far more acclaim than it's predecessor. These books were made into motion pictures in the years 2001-2003 by the filmmaker/director Peter Jackson.
