Top Cat (T.C.) is the leader of a gang of Manhattan alley cats living in Hoagy's Alley in the Top Cat animated sitcom. The gang constantly attempts to earn a quick buck, usually through illegal scams. The show's characters were inspired by the 1940s East Side Kids characters and The Phil Silvers Show (1955–59), a successful military comedy whose lead character (Sergeant Bilko, played by Silvers) was a crafty con-man.
T.C. is voiced by Arnold Stang, Daws Butler, and others in English, Julio Lucena in Spanish, Lima Duarte in Portuguese, Per Sandborgh in Swedish and others in over 20 other languages.
