The company was founded in 1922 when Jennie H. Graves established Ye Olde Vogue Doll Shoppe in her hometown of Somerville, Massachusetts. The company later grew into the largest doll manufacturer in the world.

The company is best known for their 8” tall Ginny dolls which were first produced in 1948 and were named after Mrs. Graves’ daughter, Virginia. The Ginny dolls came with a variety of clothes and accessories and by 1957 over five million dollars per year were achieved in sales.
