Frank Humphris was one of several artists who came to illustrate Ladybird Books after working on the Eagle comic. Humphris' work for the Eagle included a western-themed comic strip ‘Riders of the Range’, which he drew until 1962. He illustrated several titles for Ladybird books and also wrote the books ‘Cowboys’, ‘Indians of the Western Plains’ and ”Battle of the Little Big Horn’
